The Crown
The artificial crown shields the tooth. Placed over the damaged tooth, it strengthens it. A crown can be made of porcelain, porcelain and metal alloy, or metal only. The crown is the visible part of the tooth or the portion outside of the gums. We often use an artificial crown to:
- Protect a weakened tooth (cavities)
- Restore a broken tooth

The Bridge
The bridge is made of ceramic and is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It is anchored to the adjacent teeth. The fixed bridge and crown are cemented in place.
